Sax & Honey are a husband and wife duo. Lynden and Andrea met by chance in a jazz club in Christchurch, New Zealand, in January 2000. Together, they formed a unique jazz duo, with cool, tenor sax tones and exquisite, velvet vocals.

On that night, Kiwi Andrea was singing with her band. Lynden (who was travelling in NZ at the time and was in Christchurch for just one night) jumped up to join them for a solo. He's like that!

The connection was instantaneous - and that chance encounter was to set the scene for an enduring partnership - both in music and in romance. That candle burns brightly to this day.

Within three months, they were on the road together. First they toured Australia; then they played 5* hotels in Thailand; by November of that first year they were married during an intimate ceremony in Manhattan.

For many years now, Lynden and Andrea have been honing and perfecting their act here in the UK. If you are thinking of booking a live band, they are ready to help you bring a little magic to your upcoming event.

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember...

I was so lucky to grow up in a house surrounded by music. My grandmother was a professional singer and music teacher. And she taught my Mum, who in turn encouraged and supported me.

I won my first singing competition at the age of four, singing a duet with my grandmother. After training as a classical vocalist throughout my teens, I joined a rock covers band at seventeen, to pay my way through university. Then, in my early twenties, I discovered the music of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald and Chet Baker - and my love affair with jazz was born.

While that passion remains just as strong today, my musical tastes are constantly evolving. I love to perform heartfelt ballads and swinging jazz. But I'm also just as at home belting out 80s classics, disco, pop, funk and R&B.

What is your dream song? If I don't know it now, then I'd love to learn it for you.

Playing the sax is my passion and my life...

As a small boy, I longed to play a musical instrument. And the first time I heard Jay Beckenstein play alto sax on Spyro Gyra's massive hit "Morning Dance" I knew I wanted to be a sax player. I remember it like it was yesterday.

I didn't get an opportunity to play the sax until I was 26. But from the very first moment I pressed the reed to my lips, I knew that the saxophone was something I wanted in my life forever.

Over the years, I've discovered that I enjoy teaching sax just as much as I love playing it. Teaching is about taking someone on an incredible journey.

You get to share these beautiful moments when a pupil realises they can create something new; often something they thought they could never do.
